Construction of Kisoro Administration Block
Project Scope & Deliverables
This project involved the construction of an administration block for Kisoro District Local Government, providing functional office accommodation for district administration staff in an area with challenging mountainous terrain.
Site Preparation: Site clearing and levelling works in Kisoro's hilly topography, with cut and fill operations to create a level building platform and appropriate access.
Concreting: Construction of reinforced concrete strip foundations and ground beams appropriate for the site's ground conditions, with concrete column stubs and DPC (damp-proof course) at plinth level.
Block Work Walling: Construction of all load-bearing and partition walls using concrete blocks in cement mortar, with provision for window and door openings, lintels, and wall ties.
Timber Roof Structure and Covering: Fabrication and erection of a timber rafter and purlin roof structure, covered with appropriate roofing materials (corrugated iron sheets or clay tiles) selected for durability in Kisoro's higher-altitude climate. Gutters, downpipes, and stormwater drainage provisions were included.
