Construction of Warehouse for Incubation and Training Centre

This project involved the construction of a purpose-built warehouse facility forming part of a Business Incubation and Training Centre for the Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI) in Kabale, designed to support value addition, product development, and entrepreneurship training.

Site Preparation: Clearing, grubbing, topsoil stripping, and grading of the site to establish a stable working platform, with establishment of temporary construction facilities.

Excavation Works: Excavation for foundations, ground beams, and underground services, with disposal of surplus excavated material and backfilling of trenches after installation of underground services.

Concreting: Construction of reinforced concrete foundations, hardened industrial floor slabs with appropriate joint detailing, columns, beams, and ring beams capable of accommodating heavy forklift traffic and pallet racking loads.

Block Work Walling: Construction of external perimeter walls using concrete blocks in mortar, with louver ventilation openings, fire exit doors, and loading bay openings incorporated.

Steel Roof Structure and Covering: Erection of a wide-span structural steel roof framework to provide a large column-free storage area, covered with long-span metal roofing sheets incorporating translucent rooflights for natural daylighting.

Finishes: Application of render and paint to external walls; sealing and hardening of the warehouse floor; provision of impact barriers and wheel stops; painting of floor markings for storage zones, pedestrian walkways, and emergency exits.

Compound Paving: Construction of a paved external apron at loading bays and hardstanding for goods vehicles accessing the warehouse.

Mechanical and Electrical Installations: Installation of industrial electrical distribution, high-bay LED lighting, three-phase power outlets for equipment, fire detection system, security lighting, and water supply and drainage services
