Partitioning and Associated Electrical & Mechanical Installation Works for Training Centre
Project Scope & Deliverables
This project involved the fit-out of a dedicated Training Centre facility at the Karuma Hydropower Plant (HPP), executed for Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL), providing a functional and well-equipped space for staff training and capacity building activities.
Site Preparatory Works: The work area was prepared by cleaning, clearing, and protecting existing plant and equipment in adjacent operational areas. Temporary hoarding was installed to separate the construction zone from active plant areas in compliance with safety requirements.
Setting Out: Precise setting out was performed using approved drawings to establish partition grid lines, door opening locations, and service routes prior to commencement of installation works.
Aluminium Partitioning: Supply and installation of aluminium-framed demountable partition systems to subdivide the training centre space into training rooms, offices, reception areas, and breakout spaces, offering flexibility for different training configurations.
Glass Fixing: Installation of full-height and partial-height glazed partition panels and vision panels in solid partitions, using safety-rated glass in aluminium glazing beads to provide natural light transmission between spaces while maintaining acoustic separation.
Aluminium Door and Window Fixing: Supply and installation of aluminium-framed doors with appropriate ironmongery and aluminium window frames complete with glazing, serving newly partitioned spaces and providing natural ventilation and access.
Mechanical and Electrical Installations: Provision of electrical power distribution, lighting circuits with appropriate illumination levels for a training environment, data and communications cabling, air conditioning to serve training rooms and offices, and any necessary mechanical ventilation to maintain comfortable indoor conditions
